I'm an NYU student, a content creator, and an intern. Here's what a busy 15-hour day is like for me.

  • As an NYU student, I started my day by attending a class in a lecture hall and one at a museum.
  • After my classes, I created content for two internships with influencers around the city.
  • I also attended a networking event, went to a running club, and found time to study.

I'm a sophomore at New York University, studying media, culture, and communications. But that's only a fraction of my identity.

Between classes, I'm busy with extracurriculars, two internships, content creation, and my social life. Sometimes I get so busy that my days can last over 15 hours.

For example, one day in November, I had classes, created content for my internships, and attended an exclusive networking event.

Here's what that busy day looked like more closely.

At 8:30 a.m., I woke up and got ready for classes.

I live in Alumni Hall, an upperclassman dorm building. It's a 10-minute walk from most of my classes.

I live in a single room and share a suite with two friends. We have a small common area with a kitchen, a table, and a few chairs.

After a cold shower in our bathroom, I changed and grabbed a leftover sandwich from the fridge before heading out at 9:20 a.m.

At 9:30 a.m., I attended my elementary-French class in NYU's newly constructed Paulson Center.

With only 20 people in my class, this lecture was more intimate and interactive. We listened to songs by Stromae and played conjugation games.

At 11 a.m., I speed walked to my next class, where we explored an art exhibit.

For introduction to visual culture, we visited an exhibit by Nadia Huggins at the King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center. We learned about her relation to the Caribbean seas and reefs. She mixes documentary with conceptual photography and video.

At 1:05 p.m., I met up with a real-estate agent, and we filmed a $20 million penthouse on Billionaires' Row.

I intern for Anthony Park, a content creator who makes videos about luxury real estate. I help him film and create the content.

After meeting in the lobby, Park and I greeted the listing agent. We all took the elevator up to the 55th floor of the property. Following a 20-minute assessment and walk-through of the penthouse, Park and I discussed how we should approach filming that day.

We use an iPhone 14 Pro to film all our videos — no fancy equipment. I always hold the iPhone with two hands, and as I filmed, all my attention shifted to the screen and nothing else. A few days later, over 10 million people had seen the property on social media.

It's an unbelievable experience, navigating through these million-dollar homes and then returning to the humble confines of a student dorm. Sometimes it feels like I'm living in two different worlds.

At 2:45 p.m., I took the subway to Dig on Broadway to eat lunch and finish homework.

Dig is one of my staple places to eat. The food is healthy, and there's a student discount. I almost always get the hot-honey chicken bowl and replace the mac and cheese with lettuce.

At 3:15 p.m., I went back to my dorm to relax.

I needed a break, so I returned to Alumni Hall and jumped into bed. I doomscrolled on social media for a bit.

At 4 p.m., I went for a run with the NYU Run Club along the West Side Highway.

This was my favorite part of the day.

I met up with friends at the NYU Run Club, and after a 10-minute warm-up, we headed out for a 3-mile run. There were views of the World Trade Center along the way.

Catching up with everyone after a long day of school and work kept me motivated for the rest of the day.

At 5 p.m., I showered and changed in my dorm.

A few of my friends and I rode Citi Bikes back through campus and to our respective dorms, where I made sure to take a quick shower and pack my camera bag before heading out again.

At 6 p.m., I filmed Instagram and TikTok videos for an entrepreneur.

I was recording videos for my second internship. I arrived at a rooftop in the Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea. Top founders, operators, and executives gathered there for an event hosted by Andrew Yeung.

Before the event began, I created content for Yeung in which we interviewed a few founders.

At 6:30 p.m., I got to mingle with people at the event.

Right after filming, I entered the event, a curated gathering of tech and business leaders. As it began, I was nervous. But after interacting with a few people, I realized how open and kind everyone was.

Through my conversations, I learned about a filmmaker turned software engineer based in Mexico City, received advice from a 21-year-old tech YouTuber who interviewed the CEO of Google, and so much more.

At 9 p.m., I headed to the library to cram for my midterms with friends.

With a French presentation in a few days and homework for my history-of-Brazil course, I packed up my things and took the subway to Elmer Holmes Bobst Library near Washington Square Park. I met up with a few friends on the seventh floor in one of the quiet spaces to work.

At 12:30 a.m., I walked back to my dorm with my roommate.

On our way back home from the library, my roomie and I chatted about our day. From his recruiting events to my apartment filming, I realized how fortunate we were to be in a city filled with opportunity.

It's astounding to think about all the experiences I packed into just one day. This relentless pace can be exhausting, yet it's exhilarating. While it can be overwhelming at times, being surrounded by inspiring people who continually challenge me is what keeps me motivated.
